Greenbrier Middle School sixth grade teacher Ashley Anderson Post received a Milken Educator Award on October 3, 2023.
In Post’s classroom, no student is left behind. Through detailed and diligent lesson plans, she works with special education teachers to make curriculum accessible and challenging for all levels of learners. As one of the first teachers having been trained in the RISE model (Resilience in Schools and Educators), Post designed her own RISE-based sixth grade course. She serves on Greenbrier’s leadership team, curriculum committee, and literacy PLC while assisting in the interviewing, training and mentorship of first-year teachers. Post also helps coordinate school events such as the Greenbrier Games; decorating floats for family and community night; sending encouraging pre-testing videos to staff, students and families; and organizing ‘Walk in My Shoes’ nights, during which fifth graders can come meet teachers and tour the school. She also assists the VIP tutoring program after school and leads professional development workshops for her colleagues.
Post earned a bachelor’s in elementary education from Arkansas Tech University in 2018.
