Ainsley VanBuskirk (NC '23)

Ainsley VanBuskirk instills the importance of cultural diversity and the interconnectedness of the world in her students at Pactolus Global School in Greenville. She received a Milken Educator Award on November 3, 2023.
She encourages students to think critically and independently, demonstrating that learning is never-ending. VanBuskirk creates a tailored curriculum, ensuring students have equitable opportunities to succeed and encourages empathy and respectful communication. VanBuskirk participates on the School Improvement Team, serves as a grade-level chair and a facilitating teacher, while collaborating with international colleagues on supporting dual language instruction. She mentors new teachers and implemented Reading Horizons and Multi-Tiered System of Supports, aimed at providing a tailored approach to match academic, social-emotional behavior assessment and instructional resources to each student’s needs. VanBuskirk is a member of the District Science Advisory. She presented at the Accelerate, Invigorate, Motivate state conference on dual language and global initiatives, and the summer leadership academy.
VanBuskirk is National Board Certified. She earned an Associate of Arts from Pitt Community College in 2011 and a Bachelor of Science from East Carolina University in 2013.
