Caleb Flores (CO '23)
Teacher, Greeley West High School | Greeley, CO
Colorado native and lifelong Greeley resident Caleb Flores received a Milken Educator Award on December 15, 2023.
As an English language arts, reading and Culturally Linguistically Diverse teacher, Flores, fluent in Spanish, helps dissipate language barriers and advocates for the academic and personal needs of students. Using World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment screeners, he helps identify whether new students are English Language Learners and works as a co-teacher on the ninth grade English team, providing differentiated lesson plans that align to both IB Middle Years Programme curriculum and state academic standards. Flores serves as a mentor teacher at Greeley West and an Equity team leader for a pilot asset-based classroom rubric intended to expand teachers’ skills in creating rigorous lessons. Additionally, Flores is a middle school football coach.
Flores is a two-time University of Northern Colorado graduate, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2016 and a Master of Arts in educational leadership and policy studies in 2021.
